TV internship (6th Week)

It was a busy week at the office I was tasked to research the difference between MWSS, Maynilad and Manila Water for their next episode. Researching is really fun in terms of learning things that you never paid attention to before. So I have learned that MWSS is the government organization that handles the distribution of water, but because of lack of budget they could not distribute water efficiently all over the metro so they had to seek private help. And that is where Maynilad and Manila Water comes they are the private corporations that distributes water over the greater East and the greater West of Metro Manila.

While I was researching my boss called me in my cellphone and asked me to go to the lobby hurriedly, I thought that it was something urgent so I ran out of the office and went to

the lobby and then I asked my boss why and she told me that I should take a picture with Coco Martin. Ms. Karen Davila the host of 'The Correspondents' for the next episode is talking with him and so even if I was so hesitant my boss pushed me to have a picture with him haha. She told me that it was my price for staying late to research for her.

I was also tasked to contact COMELEC to get the presidential election results for the town of Antipolo. I learned that getting information especially from the government is a tedious task, you really need to be wise in order to get information without them knowing that you're already getting it.

I also learned that employees in the current affairs programs of ABS-CBN also racket in other shows but they are discreet about it and does not talk about it in their home office. I have known this because the researcher in charge for this week has tasked me secretly to find a hazing victim that could be their next case study for the show 'I Survive'.

I also did overnight transcriptions and timecoding this Friday. While trascribing the phone rang and so I answered it then one of their editors asked if it was me Gelik and I said yes then he told me to go to the lobby immediately and so I did go again only to find out that Jon Lloyd was there and my boss told me to have a picture with him. But I was too shy haha! so I didn't took a photo with him, I think seeing him is enough after all I am not a JL fan lol.

Then when I came back to the office my boss is luring me to stay overnight at the office to finish everything and as a reward she will be giving me tickets to watch the pilot episode of

'Pilipinas Win na Win' the following day haha! She told me that Ms. Karen Davila wants to start her script by 9AM and she told me that KD is asking for our numbers so that she can call us personally to ask us to finish everything haha! I know I could not say no to them, so what I just did is to bring home work and just promised my boss to send it to her email before 8AM. And because of that I stayed up until 4 AM. It was really hard staying up but my bosses promised to set-up my meeting with Derek and that is such a motivation jk! haha! And also I think I need to get used to staying awake for days if I am going to enter this field. :) With bosses like these what else can I ask for haha!
