DAY 21, JULY 21, 2010 (WEDNESDAY)- deja vu

Wednesday came and I am so excited to apply all the things I have learned in my production subjects. I woke up so early in the morning just to make it in time at the Ideal Minds Office. I have always been so strict in time and that if someone told me that this hour is our call time I will surely arrive 10-15 minutes before. I have been trained by my father the habit of not making others wait for me and that is always better if I'll be the one to wait and have no any complaints thrown at me.

Because I left the dormitory premises 2 hours before the prescribed time of departure, I indeed felt so cold and afraid while walking along CASAA. It is so funny that last night, my friend told me a horror story about the said place. And so I can't help but imagine and visualize the said story. and with that, I can't breathe and felt that my heart was palpitating when I reached CASAA. But of course, it can't hinder me from going to IMC and spending 7 hours for my internship.

Consequently, I walked so fast and was able to reach Quezon Hall within 5 minutes only. When I saw a taxi, I was relieved because no public utility vehicle is passing by my way. I travelled for almost 45 minutes.

When I arrived at the office I was the only girl around, others are the persons I had contacted last Monday and all of them are guys. The first thing I did was to stretch the mini DB tapes that we need in the shoot. Ms. Chai told me that fastforwarding and then rewinding the tapes can help us lessen the chance of having a bad recording and capturing of materials.

The second thing in my list of tasks is to document the shoot and carry the production box.

Our first location was the Navotas Fish Port. I didn't expect that this destination will shock my nasal system. It indeed smelled as if I live in a ship where caught fish were placed. I didn't have any chance and believe that I am not in the position to complain about the location. Aside from the fact that this is the thing needed for the shoot is that it is also the reality that I have to face. Location shoot will not always be pleasing to the senses.

The second location that we went to is in green Meadows, a village in Libis, Quezon City. Featured here are the young entrepreneurs that manufacture, sell and market healthy calamansi extract. Their story is indeed inspiring since their business started from their thesis topic. The interviewees told us that because of their business, it is not only that they were able to earn money and made known to others but they were also able to develop their self confidence which they didn't expect because they were indeed introvert persons before they started up their business.

During the shoot I felt so happy to see that the set-up was déjà vu. Though it was my first time to witness a true to life TV production shoot, I told myself "I know this already." January this year when I was chosen by Professor Jane Vinculado to be the production manager of Gawad Chanselor Para sa Natatanging Guro. The said experience might perhaps be the best that I have for it indeed trained me in almost every aspect of production- pre-prod, prod and post. The positioning of the camera, choosing the background, asking the questions, framing of the interview and looking for situationers during the Go Negosyo shoot were also the things that I and the rest of the Gawad team needed to accomplished before.

At the end of the day, I went to Ma'am Jane to thank her for the Gawad chance that she gave me and let me experience.
