Ume-EXPOSURE. (6th Week)

July 26, 2010

I and Roni were tasked to be the documenters of People's Sona at Ever Gotesco in Commonwealth Avenue.
The theme for the People’s SONA was Perya Pilipinas: State of the Illusion Address. One of the highlights of the event was the effigy of Noynoy Aquino in a magician’s costume.

(According to Ugatlahi, the creator of P.Noy's effigy, as long as P.Noy hasn’t fulfilled yet what he’s promised during the campaign period and on his inauguration, those promises would remain as illusions.)

The said SONA was attended by Bayan Muna, Kilusang Magsasaka ng Pilipinas (KMP), Kilusang Mayo Uno, Anakpawis, Gabriela, Alliance of Progressive Laborers (APL)and Anakbayan party lists.

Right after the SONA, we had a Man-On-the-Street Interview with regard to people's reactions to P.Noy's speech. Some interviewees said that corruption has always been a problem, but without P.Noy being able to trace the cause of poverty and put Arroyo to jail, there wouldn’t be change in the administration.

-1st time to do field reporting
-1st time to witness People's SONA
-1st time to attend a rally
-1st time to go on air for the program May Punto Ka Dyan at DZUP 1602
-So glad to be part of history
-Learned a lot of new things

:))

Fun. Fulfilling. Worth it.:)

I was invited by my co-intern Lau to be part of the live audience of GMA’s new talkshow Love Ni Mister, Love Ni Misis which will be hosted by Carmina Villaroel and Zoren Legaspi. They said that the episode will be aired on August 4 with the Diz Iz It's time slot. We were there to watch the taping of the said talkshow. But we were surprised when we entered the studio and the crew told us that we’re going to be the “Kikay Barkada.” We were like, “What? Oh no, no. Maybe you’ve just mistaken us from another group because we were just here to watch.” But they insisted that we have to be part of the show. So we ended up as the "Kikay Barkada" and "The Corny Friends." Before the shoot has started, Tess Bomb briefed us on what we’re supposed to do. We had to act exaggeratedly based on the character assigned to us that day, which is the “Kikay Barkada." We will be shown to the celebrity parents if they would want us to be friends with their children. So from merely supposedly-part-of-the audience that day, we became talents.

The celebrity guests for that episode were Maritoni Fernandez and her daughter Alexi, Nadia Montenegro and her daughter Yna, and Tirso Cruz III and his son Bodie. I was really overwhelmed to see them and wanted to take pictures but we weren’t allowed to. Seeing Carmina Villaroel, Zoren Legaspi, and other celebrities almost 2 meters away from us was awesome!

Before the taping ends, we were asked to take pictures with the hosts so while the tape was still rolling, we had more exposure with Zoren Legaspi and Carmina Villaroel taking pictures with them in front of the camera. It was a remarkable experience to be part of a talkshow which will be aired nationwide. We took pictures with the couple. Zoren Legaspi was really nice and accommodating and Carmina Villaroel is very witty. They were really a perfect couple!:)

Even though, this exposure is not included in my internship hours because I am an intern from the New Media Inc., it made me realize where I really want to work in the near future. I am now sure that I’d really want to work in an Entertainment/Production department in media industry.

As for New Media this week,

I continued doing the WAP download codes for GMA’s website. I was in relief when I saw that I’m on the 167th song already because what I knew was I only had to finish 200 songs. To my disappointment, when I scrolled down, I saw that there were 367 songs to finish! So there are still 200 songs to go!!!

(This is what I do most of the time.)
