Typhoon Basyang WON'T AND CAN'T STOP ME.:D

July 14, 2010. Wednesday.

Since our classes have been suspended due to the typhoon Basyang that hit Manila yesterday and made electricity down in some areas in the provinces and in Metro Manila, including UP Diliman, I’ve decided to go to GMA for internship today. Today, I was asked to write more scripts for the RBT of artists.

Also, this week, Miss Lala taught me how to do the “full track music” stuff wherein I have to set the code for each song for downloads at their website. It’s really hard to explain in details because it’s more of a technical work. At first, I had a difficulty doing it but eventually, I gradually learned to do it rightly.

There was a General Assembly today where the staff and talents were awarded for their 5th, 20th, 25th year of service. Our team invited me to come with them and watch the GA. I saw a lot of artists like Kuya Germs, John Lapus, Pia Archangel, Mike Enriquez, Joey de Leon, Angelu de Leon, Wilma Doesn’t. and Star Struck survivors- Diva Montelaba, Enzo Pineda, and Rocco Nacino. Embarrassing as it may seem, but when the Star Struck survivors greeted someone from our team, I was not really aware that they’re artists. I was even wondering who they were, until a guy from our team took pictures of them and they were introduced by John Lapus as the Star Struck survivors, that was the only time that I've realized that they're artists. HAHA! My God, I didn’t even know them. I guess, I need to know who the GMA artists are. After that, there was a free meal from McDonalds. HAHAHA! :D

Also, during the GA, I was able to witness A REAL PRODUCTION. There, I saw how the floor directors, prompters, cameramen, and other crew did their jobs. For that, i am thankful to take a glance at the "real world of media industry."

What an experience! :D

TD-ing.. :))

I was the technical director for the program A-List from the very beginning of the program until the end.:D
It was a heart-pounding experience. I mean ‘twas really my first time to go on air not panicking on what buttons will I press to play the songs, PSAs, and plugs. Well, aside from the technical difficulties, the program went well. Thank God for it.:)
After A-List, I was in-charge to log the running time of the plugs and PSAs for the program May Punto Ka Dyan and Psych O’Clock Habit. It was really fun! Being part of the DZUP family makes me proud.:)

5TH WEEK
Look at the BRIGHTER SIDE, ALWAYS.:)

This week, I continued doing the True Tones stuff for downloads. Surprisingly, there are more than 200 songs to be given specific downloading codes. Woah! And I'm just in the 70th song! More songs to go!! :)) It's kinda technical and tedious, but yeah, it's still an opportunity to learn how to do this technical stuff for downloads.

Also, for the first time my co-interns Lau and Glenn took pictures at the Entertainment Department at the new building of GMA. (Thanks to Lau Quirimit!) :D
Internship is fun when you're with friends! :)

DZUP

This week, I joined the hosts for the program A-List. It's really entertaining to talk on air. I almost never noticed how time flies when I'm at DZUP.

Listening to May Punto Ka Dyan's episode about OFWs made me learn a lot about their lives. The guests almost occupied the whole radio booth. These OFWs shared their life stories abroad. I admire them for their strength and sacrifices to leave there families here in the Philippines and work abroad with the hope for a better future.
Honestly, an hour talk with them was really short to have an in-depth discussion about their experiences abroad. So Sir Edgy said that there might be a part 3 episode of the said program.

P.S (Nagkataon lang po na pareho ang damit ko nung 5th at 9th week) haha
