My first experience for the DZUP internship was for the show KKK, Kayumangging Kanta Klasiks. Thankfully, Rachel, the show's EP, was really friendly about showing me the ropes around the studio. I usually just had to do the traffic log for the songs. Admittedly though, the show gets a little bit boring because for the entire hour, we had to listen to very old and slow kundimans - not exactly the kind of thing you'd prefer at one in the afternoon, especially if you have to keep track of how slowly the minutes go by as each song segues into the next. After my first few KKK shows, I already started to look forward to the station IDs and plugs because they were more catchy than the content itself. It's a good thing that during my KKK sched, Rachel herself is also the DJ and she's a lot of fun to listen. I admire how she makes the show more interesting when she hosts, and even in her short spiels, you get to know a bit more about her.
That's another thing I appreciated early on with the DZUP internship - getting to know my batchmates from the old curriculum. Everyone's genuinely very nice, and the time you spend with each other at the booth opens up avenues to make new friends and exchange pieces of advice about a lot of things, trivial or academic.
So for my first week, I was content with having to log songs or do time check, and maybe once in a while assist as a TD. But even as I was just starting out, I already felt that the company makes the internship a more enriching experience.
