Highlights of 2nd week of OJT ABS-CBN Corp Comm

July 12-16, 2010

Ma'am Christelle asked me to write a press release for the wild card episode of Showtime. Incidentally, that episode of Showtime was scheduled to be taped on the same day I was assigned to do the press release so Sir Kane Choa, Head of the PR Department, told me to just watch the taping. He said I'd have an easier time writing the press release if I just watch the show myself instead of just basing the press release on an episode brief from the crew of Showtime.

So I spent my entire Friday afternoon on the set of Showtime. I stayed there for the taping of two episodes, with the latter episode being the wild card episode I was supposed to write about.

Instead of staying backstage, Showtime's Executive Producer, Mr.Mark Rejano, just asked me to sit with the audience. I had to remove my OJT ID, so if ever the camera swings past me, my ID wouldn't be seen.

Since I wasn't wearing my ID, of course the show's cameramen and PAs didn't know I was there for work. They all thought I was really part of the audience so they made me dance, cheer and clap my lungs out--together with the other audience members of course--for the show's judges and contestants.

For one spiel, Vhong Navarro went to the audience and one of the PAs literally yanked me and the two other girls beside me out of our seats and made us stand next to Vhong Navarro and told us to act like we were having a blast--a.k.a. clap, smile, dance, cheer, howl, etc. It was mortifying. I wish no one I know sees once its aired 'cause I bet I looked ridiculous.

Faye also watched the taping with me. She only watched the second taping though. The show paused for a long break as the judges deliberated on which group would be the wild card entry for the finals. Because the break was really long, members of the audience started approaching the shows host and judges and asked them for autographs and pictures. I had my digicam with me, so I defintely wanted to have a picture taken with anyone from the show, as in anyone. I just wanted to have proof that I was at Showtime. So I asked Faye who she wanted us to have a picture with and she said Jhong Hilario. Well, Jhong was, uh, hot so I agreed haha.

Thank God I brought a digicam with me that day. Actually I had no idea why I brought my digicam to work. Maybe subconsciously I knew I was going to get sent to a taping that day haha.
