TV Internship (3rd Week)

Well for this week I had no time to take pictures because we were so busy haha! Our researcher for the episode this coming Tuesday had to change her topic because she cannot find anymore interviewees for her suppose to be topic. I could not spill the details because the episode has not aired yet so we were prohibited to give detailed information. Anyway as I said because of that everyone was in a rush, I was tasked to interview the Director of Agriculture in Bataan and was suppose to go to Bataan for the shoot if not only I was scheduled for a therapy for my jaw last Saturday. But still I had the chance to interview him on the phone.

We were also tasked to make a shot list, transcription and timecode of the videos for the next episode. The interviews and videos were really long but I also learned a lot by seeing what kinds of shots they take and how they choose an angle for a story. I was also somewhat amazed at how much knowledge and experience journalists gain when they are on field. They can see the world in a different perspective and they try to show that view of the world to their audience.

They also requested us to go to work on Sundays because they were really in a rush but I wasn't able to due to my condition. Now I can see the haggardness and feel the pressure of the job I dream of having. I have learned that in this field you really need to think and act fast and to be flexible because anytime your topic can be outdated or maybe at the last minute your interviewee might bail on you so you always need to have a plan A, B and C haha!
