PA (2nd week)

We were asked to help out with the preparation for the Grand Kapamilya Negosyo Fair 2 at the SMX Convention Center. PAs got my attention this 2nd week.

PREPARATION
Days before the fair, I was stuck in the office cutting paper, repackaging merchandise and the like. It was quite disappointing really to do just that for the whole day. And since I believe I can learn from any task no matter how trivial they seem, I decided to just observe the people as much as I could. I tried to imagine myself in the place of a PA, gosh, it's so hard to be a PA in Rated K. Imagine, you studied hard! You wrote a thesis! You have a diploma, then you'll just be tasked to cut paper the whole day, run errands, buy food for the meetings, repackage flipflops, umbrellas and other freebies without even having the privilege to ask for a decent break for relaxation. That is just so depressing, that what you did the whole day can be done by just anyone. Like what one PA said to me, sometimes she gets frustrated with the work given to her, "Kung ganito lang din, sana hindi na ako nag-aral". Aside from that, talagang kawawa ang PA dun, PAs get the nastiest jokes. :| I think sometimes it's just too rude to treat PAs 'that' way. By 'that', I mean calling them funny names, asking them to buy you food even if it's not their job to do so, shouting at them, humiliating them in front of other staff. Sad. Sometimes, me and my fellow interns just freeze whenever mean jokes are thrown at PAs. As in yung mukha namin di maipinta, how can they take it? Seriously.

That's life inside the office. Outside the office, everything was soooooo different.

NEGOSYO FAIR
When we were in the fair, they just seem like different people haha. They're nicer, happier, everything is better in them. I saw the spark of joy in their faces, I saw that they had a fun side. I saw respect. I saw camaraderie. Makulay. Buhay na buhay. I just wonder, if they can be like that outside, why do they choose to be so serious in the office? As if they're gonna bite anyone who makes a mistake, especially the PAs.

Of course we had SOOOO MUCH FUN during the fair :) But more than the fun, I'm experiencing things in Rated K which make me think about greater things in life -work, determination, dedication, courage and respect. At sa tingin ko, yun ang mahalaga, ang matutunan ko mabuild up ang attitude na kailangan ko to survive in the industry, na syempre hindi tinatapakan ang iba. Dakila ang mga PA. Saludo ako sa kanila.
