2nd week at Lifestyle Network: The Script

Day 1:

Last August 10, Ms. Barbie, called me and told me that I would be producing a plug for an event of Food Magazine in partnership with Lifestyle Network and National Bookstore. She told me that she will email me the details of the event and that I should make a script for it. So I made the script and brought it at work. Wheew! Pressure. That was what I felt especially when she told me that she was expecting a lot knowing that I’m from UP.

PRESSURE.

When I arrived at Lifestyle, I showed her immediately my script and it turned out that I would be working with Ms. Juliane, one of our creative directors.

So I gave her my script and we worked at it. As we talked, I learned that they wanted all the details given within 30 seconds and as a result, I won’t be able to put in much “kaartehan” with the plug. It saddened me a bit and I realized that yeah, the audience has to know everything about the event and there’s time constraint. Oh, the beauty and madness of broadcasting. So we made several revisions and she told me to email her the revised script by 10 pm that night. Pressure.

I was able to go home at around 9:00 pm with my script still in progress. But fortunately, I was able to send it 5 minutes before the deadline. :)

Day 2:

I went to Lifestyle the next day with my script on my mind. I kept asking myself, “Did they like it?” "Were they disappointed?"

But when I arrived at the office, nothing of what I have expected happened and I went on with my usual errands. When Ms. Juliane arrived, I asked her if she was able to receive my email. She said she did and she thanked me. So I thought, “Well ma’am, was it OK?” But I wasn’t able to ask her that. Ms Barbie soon arrived and she asked me if I would be going with Ms. Julian to the editing room to edit the plug. But since Ms. Juliane did not ask me to, I told her no. But deep inside, I really wanted to be at the post editing room. I wanted to see whether or not they would follow my script. But since I wasn't yet finished with the transcription assigned to me, I decided to stay. :(

After I finished the transcript, I delivered it to the editing room and there I saw Ms. Juliane and the other editor working with the plug. For a brief moment, I was able to see them editing a video along with a VO which I think I wrote in the script. (I hope) But since there were already a lot of people in the room, I opted to go back to the office hoping that the editors were indeed following the script that I have made. (Still hoping)

...and that's my 2nd week at Lifestyle Network. :)
