At last

My Week 6 at GMA 7
News and Public Affairs Department, Born to be Wild (BTBW)
August 23, 2010 (Monday)

This was supposed to be my last day in Born to be Wild but since the EP asked me to extend so she can properly evaluate my performance, I will.
They had a closed door meeting or what we call in BroadComm as post-mortem and this time, she permitted me to join them. I have known that Sir Limchoa resigned. How sad. But they have a new researcher who happens to be my friend and a fellow reporter in Kabataan News Network (KNN). What a small world!

Anyway, finally, I witnessed how they plan and brainstorm for their next stories. It’s a tough one. Unlike their behavior in the cubicle, they are serious inside the conference room. Everyone is really thinking and sharing what they think about the proposed topics of the new researcher. If ever I change my mind and plan to work there, at least, I already know the possible questions they will throw. Will that sell to the audience? How odd is that story? How confident are you that when we go there, we will see that animals? What is your thesis statement? What will I do with a plant that is not moving? What will be my shots? It’s like my story pitching class. I should know well what I am talking about. It frightens me but it’s challenging. The people are professionals and friendly. They are not teaching me directly but showing me how.  I’m considering staying at Born to be Wild and complete my 150 hours there. But then, I want to experience working in other programs as well. Goodbyes give sadness and happiness at the same time.
