The Most Exciting Week

My Week 5 at GMA 7
News and Public Affairs Department, Born to be Wild (BTBW)

August 16 and 17, 2010 (Monday and Tuesday)

HIGHLIGHT:

I have known that Sir Mark Limchoa (my Videography professor) is now a Segment Producer in BTBW. It excites me because at least there is a possibility that I can join in any of their shoot.

RESEARCH WORKS:

1.Nudibranch (this is interesting!)
2.Pictures and videos of TURTLE FARM (it must be a public domain)

I learned that public domain is pictures, graphics and videos that are publicly-owned! No need to ask permission or give credits to anyone! The URL usually ends with .gov but not all. I should always verify if it’s really a public domain ‘cause the program will be sued if it’s not. I also learned other research websites aside from yahoo, google. Well, leave it to me  Good thing I have Ate Rizza (SP/Researcher) who serves as my trainer. She’s so nice.

A difficult question to answer: Why?

My Week 4 at GMA 7
News and Public Affairs Department, Born to be Wild (BTBW)

August 9 and 10, 2010 (Monday and Tuesday)

I submitted my 3rd batch of research proposals. The EP told me that I still need to revise some of the stories because it lacks something – the answer to the question, “Why am I proposing this?”. Oddity is something I need to extract from those stories through treatment. This time, the EP told Ma’am Rizza (SP/researcher) to train me how to write and research for acceptable topics. I have 10 more hours in BTBW so I must do well.

Sir TJ gave me additional work which is asked from him by Jessica Soho. I looked for possible hotels and accommodations in places usually strike by typhoon. This is where the reporters will stay in for their coverage.

An hour down

My 3rd Week at DZUP

August 18, 2010 (WEDNESDAY)

Supposedly, Sir Edge is my adviser but he handed me over to Ma’am Jo ‘cause she requested. For a while (but I think until I finish my DZUP internship), Ma’am Jo will be my adviser. I was tasked to co-produce Consumer and French Programs airing on September.

I just started helping out Roni and Jen producing the DELdalan OBB and merchandising plug. The DEL in DELdalan stands for Department of European Language! Seems confusing ‘cause it’s not obvious when you are not a DEL stud. Anyway, it took us an hour to do it. I enjoyed the recording even though my sole role is to say the word “ha?” twice. It’s my first time to enter the RECORDING STUDIO, for real! haha.37 more exciting (hopefully) hours!

Not bored at all

My third week in Fleishman Hillard was a whirlwind of experiences. I was practically an all-rounder, well again. Aside from doing the media rounds for the third time, I went to the office of UAE-based airliner Etihad along Ayala by foot. It is on the 22nd floor of a twin tower Enterprise. The office, like the gold of Middle East is plain lavish. It just sits beside a Luis Vuitton establishment. I had to pick up the retainer fee of Fleishman Hillard for the past month which is, I tell you, not a small amount. It fascinates me how they entrust such a large amount to me. Six figures.

coziest office!

I made another collection from an agricultural client along Osmena Highway, this time via cab. It is still in Makati but not in the Central Business District. The building is their own, well-maintained and very organized. It is my third time there and the more the people recognize me as being part of the PR team. Now I feel like I am some landlord. Haha!

I also submitted an essay to my bosses regarding my media rounds experiences, which was long overdue, and I am flattered by their comments. Now I have writing assignments, talking about eye products, condos and termite-killers! Indeed, very, very diverse.

Later in the afternoon of August 10, I called up DTI to inquire about the mechanics of a raffle. A client is willing to give away two tickets to a city in Europe as part of their trade commission week. Now I am quite acquainted with the permits issued by DTI, that we always here on radio and television advertisements.

It is nice to do new things every day. No dull moment here in FH.

Why TV internship can be bitterly/overly SWEET: THIRD WEEK

August 9 – August 15, 2010

AUGUST 9 - EIGHTH DAY

I, Pam and Arianne went to Studio 5 for another taping of Bubble Gang. As soon as we entered the studio, the taping for the gag segment had already started that’s why we were left just observing the production proper. The cast that were there include my forever idol Michael V., my hunky bf Antonio, my labs Boy2, my songwriter (haha, wala akong maisip obviously, k?) Ogie AND of course the hot ladiez Maureen, Chariz Solomon, Gwen, Ellen, Jackie Rice and lastly and the least (HAHA) the all-time villain, Diego. And as I was searching for these familiar faces, I can’t help but be a lil disappointed since Ruffa Mae, Wendell and Papa Dennis (NOOOOOO WAAAAAAAY!) were not there. I felt like my day wasn’t that complete. [HAHA. Drama? FC much? =))]

SETS for Bubble Gang

So to compensate for my not so good mood, I had lunch with Pam, Arianne, Emma and Glenn. Roan and Duncel were there too and we were all so stressed out with just the thought of our THESES. [AYOKO NG ISIPAN PA.] :|

After lunch, Emma joined our tengga moments as we watched Michael V. plays as PGMA in another segment. Then at around 6pm, Duncel (who just stayed for a few minutes) and Roan decided to visit the studio. BAWAL talaga pero syempre pa-simple na lang. HAHA. The last 2 segments for that taping really made our day. Wohooooo! WE LOVE BOY2 QUIZON! *EhemSOULMATEehem* :"> :x

Yay to another 10 hours! :D

AUGUST 13 - NINTH DAY

Today, I actually planned on ditching my internship over thesis. But hell no! Why must I do that? I AM A SUPERWOMAN. HAHAHA. Kidding. :P Oh well, honestly speaking, I really really LOVE my internship plus I had a PERSONAL REASON as to why I came so eagerly and excitedly, it was because I promised a very very SPECIAL FRIEND of mine that we would be meeting today. So, after thesis-ing around 2:30 p.m., I went to GMA and was caught in the traffic jam for more than an hour or so. At around 4:00 p.m., I finally arrived at GMA and went to Ma’am Moksha and was asked to go to Mel & Joey’s taping.

SET for Mel & Joey

Direk Louie Ignacio

This taping was for Mel Tiangco’s birthday celebration.

Everyone was really busy. And I found myself helping Tess Bomb along with the other researchers/crew in arranging the set. We also prepared the food for all the guests there. It was invigorating running back and forth, giving the guests their share of the food. I even personally served the celebs’ table. And Jaya complimented me. Ahihihi. :”> And it was really nice being serenaded by Jaya, Kyla, Rachel Ann Go and Ms. Dulce. GV! :D

After which, during the on-air taping, we were busy munching the foods from the sponsors near us. [Sira ang diet ko, kbye. :))] Good thing, a few minutes later, I was asked to help Sir Jake, a writer of the show. We were situated JUST a foot away from the set proper. I enjoyed talking to him. He was soooo funny. Feel ko ang chummy na namin, meganun? HAHA. It was nice helping him out. Plus, it was really sweet of him when he personally gave me a cupcake. [Ayoko sana kainin/tanggapin, naisip ko kasi ang CALORIES! HAHA SERYOSO! Pero, oh well...] ANG SPECIAL KO LANG NAMAN. Bow. :P :))

It was a good thing I went for my internship even if it was only for 4 hours! Plus, FINALLY after more than 4 months of not seeing each other, I and my bebe Ninz Almodal were reunited.

Lovette! So I ask: Who said Friday the 13th is unlucky? :D

first week in dzup

I was assigned to work under Maam Mel.
And I should be able to work on the pre production of the soon to be aired program of the Main Library. The program is entitled LibRadio.
I am asked to do their OBB, PLUGS, STINGERS, and some help with their script.
We recorded it last week, and it was really fun working with the people from the main library. They are very welcoming and I can see that they are really enthusiastic with their upcoming new radio program. It's good that DZUP was able to open to other colleges of the university. Next week we'll be recording the first episode of the program and will be ready to air on the month of September. :)

SECOND WEEK ( MY FIRST EFP SHOOT)

august 12, it was not really my schedule for internship. Anyhow, I did went at the office, because I was not able to come the day before.

Suddenly, Ms. B, our program channel head, asked me if I got some things to do, I said no. and then she suddenly asked me to cover the Ateneo Art Awards 2010. Woah, I was shocked, she said that it was a requirement that every intern should produce atleast one episode or plug for the network. I was nervous because she said that I am the one tasked to do the shots, do the interviews, do the writing, the editing, and basically EVERYTHING.

Luckily, I was with ms. Jil, some sort of "ate" figure for me. She came with me since it was my first time and it was on the spot. So we went to Shangri-la and there. hahaha. I didnt know the event was that big of a deal. as in FORMAL event. red wine everwhere, people in long gowns, and the like. It was so fun since ms. Jil and our crew, went backstage and we just basically ate and munch on everything. hahaha. and the food was actually great. ofcourse what do you expect in such events. hahaha.

We finished the event and then we did the interview and went home after. It was a really nice experience. GV. :)
